Hoover Dam is located approximately 40 minutes from Eldorado Canyon, and is a great addition to your Self Drive Tour package. This engineering marvel was constructed during the depression, and took just 5 years to complete...despite the barren and stark conditions present at the time.
Hoover Dam is one of America's Seven Modern Engineering Wonders, and is a National Historic Landmark

Parking Garage: Open 8:00 a.m. -- Close 4:45 p.m.
Parking fee: $7.00
Visitor Center: Open 9:00 a.m. -- Close 5:00 p.m.
Tours:
Summer: first tour is at 9:15 a.m.; last ticket sold at 5:15 p.m.
Winter: first tour is at 9:15 a.m.; last ticket sold at 4:15 p.m.
The Hoover Dam Visitor Center is open every day of the year except for Thanksgiving and Christmas days.
